Mailbox Monday! 9/08/08
I got my driver’s license renewed today as my birthday is next week, and they are only open on Mondays here. I only had to take the eye test as I haven’t had any traffic violations in 11 years (knock on wood).
Do what did I all get in the mail this week?
I upgraded my cell with a new HTC Touch smartphone, and it is so cool! I would have liked an iPhone, but AT&T doesn’t offer service here in hickville, so had to go with an Alltel compatible phone.

Now I’m outta here, as I have to take my daughter to the doctor for shingles of all things. I thought only old people got shingles?! She’s ten. Shingles are usually from stress – you’d think I’d have them – ha!

Pretty nice haul for the week. I’ve noticed that you all in the lower 48 get the Walmart freebies before I do here in Ak. I’ve seen several mentions of the ScottTissue, but I am still waiting on it. It happens a lot with other things from Walmart also, oh well, at least they do come.
Sorry about your daughter’s shingles, that’s suppossed to be really painful. Apparently if a person has had chicken pox they can hit at any time of life.
If you happen to be by a Barnes & Noble they are now selling wonderful reusable shopping bags made out of the same material as the walmart ones, only bigger & stronger, for $1.49. I first saw them yesterday, was told they had sold out of them a week previously. They are beautiful, & hold 50 lbs! They’re green with a “viney/book” design. Just about the most attractive of that genre of bag I’ve seen. Would be great to give Christmas gifts in. Nicer & cheaper than the “gift bags” you can buy. Plus can then be reused by the giftee.
