So many people depend on that fresh cup of Joe in the morning to get a kick-start on their work day. No matter how you spin it, if you didn’t have that fresh coffee in the morning, your day would definitely be on the downward spiral. However, do you actually know the best way to brew fresh coffee? Or do you go with just whatever you can find at the supermarket?

Down below, we’re going to go through the top tips we have to help you brew a better cup of fresh coffee every morning. Because doesn’t every cup deserve to be the best cup of coffee you’ve ever had?

1. Always Buy Fresh, Whole Bean Coffee

With that ground coffee, you find at the supermarket, you never know how long that stuff has been sitting there. You have no idea when it’s been roasted. Did you know that coffee should be consumed at most a month after roasting? That ground coffee can have been sitting on the shelf for months at a time.

It’s a much better idea to get a grinder and fresh coffee beans, we like this top reviewed grinder from Breville. Second buy whole bean coffee that’s going to be super fresh right after you ground it. This is the first step to getting that perfect cup of coffee in the morning, every morning.

If you drink at least a daily cup of coffee a coffee bean subscription might be the way to go!

We found this amazing intro offer from  Amora Coffee: Choose your first bag of Amora Coffee for just $1. After that pay the monthly subscription cost for your beans and delivery.  You will receive a fresh batch of four half-pound bags in the blend they selected, at the regular price of $14.95 per bag plus $8.95 for shipping and handling.

2. Know How You Should Really Store the Beans

Next up, you have got to learn how to store your beans. It’s not enough to just get the beans to brew with, you’ve got to store them properly to keep them fresh for the longest time possible. A standard mason jar is the best idea for most people, unless you want to splurge for a vacuum sealed jar. You can even have multiple mason jars for the various kinds of beans that you have on hand.

3. Think About How and When You Grind Them

Within 30 minutes of being ground up, it’s estimated that coffee beans begin to lose their flavor. That’s why it’s best that you brew your coffee right after you grind the beans. This way, you will get the maximum flavor possible and not lose any of that delicious coffee taste.

In addition to that, make sure you grind the beans to a medium or medium-fine grind. This will ensure that the taste is not too bitter or too weak. It’s just right!

4. Know How to Properly Measure the Coffee

Always use the same amount of coffee for the amount of water that you use every time you make a fresh up. If you have a scale laying around, you can easily measure the weight of the coffee and the water to ensure that everything is measured correctly. Usually, the ideal ratio is going to be 1 part coffee for every 20 parts water. However, you can play around with various ratios to find the one that works best for you and your taste! This is especially important when using an espresso machine.

5. Pre-Infuse the Grounds

When you’re brewing your coffee, it’s best to “pre-infuse” them before you brew. You can do this by pouring hot water over the grounds, which will release any of that extra carbon dioxide sticking around. If you don’t do this, then you are risking a brew that’s much weaker than it could be otherwise.

6. Understand the Right Temperature to Brew At

Next up, we’ve got to talk a bit about temperature. This is another crucial step that many automatic coffee makers don’t take into account. The best temperature you can brew coffee at is anywhere between 195 to 205 degrees. Never go above that 205-degree marker, as that puts your coffee the threat of burning and absolutely no one likes the taste of burnt coffee.

These are all of the tips you need to know if you want that perfect cup of coffee every morning. Why would you settle for those low-quality grounds you find at the store when you can have fresh and amazing coffee in the morning from high-quality grounds? This is not only going to taste much better, but you’ll get a bigger productivity boost from brewing your own coffee beans.
