Easy Peanut Butter Frosting Recipe

Easy Peanut Butter Frosting for Cake Photo

My sister-in-law, Amanda, is not only the best chef in the family (check out her Caprese Salad with Balsamic Reduction Recipe), but also a great baker as well! The above photo was of the cake that she served for my God-daughter Emerson’s birthday party. It was soooooo good.

It was a double layer chocolate cake (from a cake mix), frosted with peanut butter frosting (recipe below) and topped with colored sugar sprinkles and cut-up mini Reese’s candy bars. It almost looked too pretty to cut and eat!

Easy Peanut Butter Frosting Recipe

  • 1/2 cup butter (margarine works, too)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 TBsp milk (can add more if needed)

In mixing bowl, combine softened butter and peanut butter and beat with electric mixer. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk. Mix until fluffy and spreadable. Licking the beaters to make sure it’s edible is required. 🙂

Some similar recipes call for a teaspoon of vanilla, but personally I think it’s optional.

Tatym has made this peanut butter frosting and spread over brownies. It’s an easy way to spruce up boxed brownies!

Just typing this up, I think I’m going to make some chocolate cupcakes just so I can make this peanut butter frosting recipe!

Chocolate peanut butter cake. #yum
