My mom, sister and sister-in-law went with the red, white and blue food theme for our annual 4th of July family get together. All of the red, white and blue desserts were delicious, so I’m sharing the recipe ideas for your Independence Day party!
In This Post:
American Flag Cheesecake
To replicate this American Flag Cheesecake, make a no-bake cheesecake recipe and top with blueberry pie filling in upper left hand corner of the pan, and use cherry pie filling to create the stripes of the American flag. This red, white and blue cheesecake is delicious!
Red, White & Blue Fruit Salad
For an easy red, white and blue salad, cut up bananas (for the “white”) and mix with fresh blueberries and red raspberries. That’s it! Stir and serve this easy fruit salad for a pretty red, white and blue dish. You can also substitute strawberries for the raspberries.
Red, White & Blue Layered Jello
My sister searched several different recipes for red, white and blue layered Jello ideas, and she decided to use Cool Whip whipped topping for the white layer. She made the blue Jell-O for the bottom layer, then spread the Cool Whip over the blue layer when it was set up. Adding the red Jell-O layer was a bit tricky though since Cool Whip does not “set up”. She ended up adding a thin layer of red to set up first before adding the additional red Jello liquid. Keep chilled until ready to serve.
Red, White & Blue Popcorn Balls
Popcorn Balls Ingredients
- 1/4 cup margarine or butter
- 40 large marshmallows
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 12 cups popped popcorn
- food coloring (optional)
Popcorn Balls Instructions
Melt margarine, vanilla and marshmallows together in microwave. Stir in food coloring to make desired color. If making multiple colors, seperate first (or make more batches). Mix in popcorn until evenly covered. Form into balls with greased hands. Place on wax paper and let stand until firm. All ages love popcorn balls!
Red, White & Blue Dipped Strawberries
My sister-in-law made red, white and blue covered strawberries last year, but they were too pretty and good not to share again this year. To make red, white and blue strawberries, simply dip fresh strawberries into white almond bark and then dip immediately in blue sugar.
She also decorated a “big cookie” with white frosting and red, white and blue M&M’s candy.
Have a safe and fun 4th of July!
