The top recipe is my traditional lasagna recipe including step by step pics. I've also included a simplified version for those who want quick and easy.

Traditional Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (16oz) pkg lasagna noodles
  • 1 quart jar of your favorite pasta sauce
  • 24 oz cottage cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Tsp dried parsley flakes
  • ½ tsp garlic salt
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet until no longer pink.
  2. Add pasta sauce. Simmer until heated through.
  3. Meanwhile, bring 5 qts of water and 1 Tsp salt to a full rolling boil in a large stock pot. Boil the noodles for 10 minutes. Drain well.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, eggs, parsley, garlic salt, and 1 ½ cups of the mozzarella cheese. Stir to mix thoroughly.
  5. Layer in the bottom of 9x13 pan in this order:
    - ¼ of the meat/sauce mixture
    - 3 noodles
    - 1/3 cheese mixture
    - 3 noodles
    - ¼ meat/sauce
    - 3 noodles
    - 1/3 cheese mixture
    - 3 noodles
    - ¼ meat/sauce
    - 3 noodles
    - 1/3 cheese mixture
    - 3 noodles
    - remaining meat/sauce
    - ½ cup mozzarella cheese
    - Sprinkle with a few parsley flakes
  6. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 40 – 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 – 15 minutes before cutting.

Easy Lasagna Recipe

Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg – frozen cheese stuffed Ravioli or Tortellini
  • 1 jar or your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • 1 lb of browned hamburger
  • Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese

Instructions

    1. Cook the pasta according to pkg directions.
    2. Place in bottom of 9x13 pan.
    3. Brown hamburger and mix with spaghetti sauce.
    4. Pour over pasta, top with shredded cheese.
    5. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
