The #1 gift on most Christmas wish lists this year is the Apple iPad. I don't blame anyone as I love my iPad! With Apple setting the price point for the iPad, you likely won't find a “sale” per se, but I've done some research to find the 5 (five) best deals on stores having Apple iPads in stock…

1. Apple Store – You can order iPads directly from Apple with Free Engraving (great for personalization) plus Free Shipping!
The Apple Store also offers Certified Refurbished iPads starting at $449 with Free Shipping (look under “Special Deals” in left sidebar). All refurbished products include a 1-year warranty, brand new battery and outer shell. I gave all my kids refurbished iPods a few years back for Christmas and never had a problem with any of them – in fact, they still use them today!

2. Amazon – Amazon has the lowest iPad price right now with free shipping, but when you take into consideration that you don't have to pay sales taxes in most states, it may be a better option. Update: Amazon is starting to charge sales tax in most states.

4. Ebay – There are currently over one thousand auctions for new Apple iPads right now with bids under retail value – most with free shipping and no tax. Just make sure your seller has positive feedback.
5. Walmart – Buy directly at the store, order online and pick up instore or order online and have it delivered.
I have a feeling that most stores will sell out on iPads quickly at the price point and some may even raise their prices if demand gets high. So if you're wanting to buy an iPad for Christmas (for a gift or a gift to yourself), I suggest acting (aka ordering) soon!
Or you could invest in an iPad alternative with a HomeSurf 8″ Internet Tablet Powered by Android which is only $239.99 from Gettington.com (plus they offer deferred billing). My guess is that this can be compared to an iPad such as I compare my Motorola Droid to an iPhone (and I love my Droid). There are just as many (if not more) Apps for Android systems than Apple systems now! This tablet even has a SD memory card slot that I wish my iPad had!
