My friend, Karyn, got this recipe for Orange Sunrise Smoothie off of a cereal box, and her kids love it! I’m guessing my grown kids will love this orange smoothie recipe, too, as they are big fans of mandarin oranges.
Orange Sunrise Smoothie Recipe
- 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges (drained)
- 1 cup orange juice (not from concentrate)
- 1 container (6 oz) vanilla Greek yogurt
- 8 ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. For thicker smoothies, add more ice cubes and blend until smooth. Recipe serves 3 (about 1 1/4 cups each).
Doesn’t this orange smoothie look delicious?!? I’m tempted to try this orange smoothie recipe substituting vanilla ice cream for the vanilla yogurt as I’m not a huge yogurt fan so don’t have that on hand, but I have ice cream. Granted it won’t be as healthy, but I bet it tastes amazing!
Karyn’s kiddos loved the orange smoothies for breakfast with their cinnamon roll waffles (which will warrant another blog post), but here’s a teaser pic to make your mouth water…
If I had a roll of cinnamon rolls in my fridge right now, I’d be warming up my waffle maker! Yum!
