Did you hear that Time magazine editor, Bill Saporito, paid $1,000 for a pair of eyeglasses!? Insane, right? In fact, a Time reader, Peter Minton, Winsted, Connecticut, wrote in with the following comment saying those exact sentiments after reading such nonsense:
Hey, Bill, Can You Read This?
Please tell me editor Bill Saporito is receiving mental-health treatment, because he is insane for spending $1,000 on a single pair of glasses. I buy glasses from Zenni Optical, an online site. It's $20 for a complete set at my doorstep, shipping included.
I personally have not ordered from Zenni Optical but I've had plenty of experience ordering from other online eyeglasses places that I will someday write a post about the pros/con of each. Anyway, I can assure that these online optical stores are legitimate, and you will be able to see with their glasses! In fact, when I ordered my very first pair of eyeglasses online, I took them into my local eye doctor to check the prescription, and it was right-on 100% correct!
Zenni Optical appears to have great prices with quality prescription eyeglasses starting at only $6.95, and that includes Free Anti-Scratch Coating, Free 1.50 or Thin & Light 1.57 index Single Vision Lens, Free Full UV Protection, Free Protective Case and Free Microfiber Cloth. It looks like I may have to order my next pair from here, although I'm hoping it will be awhile before any of the girls needs new glasses again!
What's your experience with Zenni Optical or any online optical store?
