Eat. Sleep. Shop!

Eat. Sleep. Shop!

Many of you long term followers know I live in a small, small town (population 1700), so in order to shop (and most everything else), I have to travel to Norfolk, Nebraska, 15 miles away.  At population 20K, it is no metropolis either, but they have the main stores. So when I know I’m going to “town”, I usually make a list of all the places I want to hit while there.

I was the guest speaker at our SCORE meeting today (I am a volunteer counselor there), so planned to shop afterwards. My first stop was Maurices. After watching a segment on the TODAY show about how women keep clothing that are too small for them hoping someday they will fit into them (me, me, me), they encouraged women to buy clothes that actually fit and are flattering. With Maurice’s 50% off sale, I got two pairs of jeans, a sweater, four tops, a pair of shorts, and a pair of capris for under $100.  I was quite satisfied. I can’t believe I forgot to look at the shoes, as I am the self-acclaimed President of Shoeaholics Anonymous!

Next stop, Target! I was hoping to grab some Christmas stuff at 90% off, but it was all gone! Instead I stocked up on Pepsi products.  12-pk cans & 6-pk bottles are on sale this week for 4/$11 ($2.75 each) and with this printable coupon for $1 off makes them each $1.75! It depends on your cashier on how many coupons they will let you use at one time.  I used 4 today with no problem, as I’m a die-hard Diet Dew fan. Am going back again tomorrow as the girls have doctors appointments then. I am trying, the keyword “trying” to cut back to one soda a day, as I’ve read that diet soda can actually make you gain weight. Ok, I’m on my second as I type this…

Then I ran into the Dollar Tree (Everything’s $1!), as I remember last year getting 50¢ Christmas items, but none were to be had.  Of course, I ended up buying $24 worth of other items that I just couldn’t resist. My last stop was Wally-World where I brought in the latest sales ads to price-match, thus saving me more grocery store stops. My best price-matches were Jack’s Pizza 6/$10 (I love this pizza! Ok, I love any pizza.) and Mr. Pibb $2.58/12-pk (One of my daughters does not like Pepsi products, only Mr. Pibb and Dr. Pepper).
