If I were young and single with no kids, I think I would love to live in Manhattan as there is so much to do and see! But since I am not, I'll just have to treasure the times I get to visit.
We had a wonderful trip. The first day we took the New York Party Shuttle for a 5 1/2 hour tour of the city. Ike was a wonderful tour guide, and we got to see all of the main attractions of NYC plus take the ferry to Staten Island. Of my previous trips to NYC, I had never seen Ground Zero or the Statue of Liberty. After eating at Red Lobster, we took in a Broadway Show, “Rent”. There is a “Rent” movie coming to theatres later this month, which I'd like to watch to compare. I must admit the show was a little more raunchy than I had anticipated.
The following day I spent at the Ad-Tech Conference getting to meet some of the people I work with and taking advantage of all the free promo items. One can never have too many free pens or tshirts. One of the main attractions was meeting Matthew Lesko, author of Several Free Money Books. He was easy to recognize in his Question Mark Suit. I'll have to post a picture of us when I get them developed. I have recommended several of his books in past newsletters, such as Gobs and Gobs of Free Stuff and Free Stuff for Busy Moms.
I also won a seat in a Texas Hold'em tournament, but since my friend is a better player, I let her play. She didn't make it to the finals, but had fun. All in all, we had a great time. But it's always nice to be home.
