5 Things You Should Never Buy Online

The Internet may have made it easy to purchase anything you need from the comfort of your own home, but there are some things that you should never purchase online. Here are just five to remember.

Mattresses

While Kim recommends buying buying mattresses online, there are some reasons that I disagree. The wrong mattress can affect the quality of your sleep, which will in turn affect your health. When you purchase a mattress in a store like Restwell Mattress Factory, you can test out different mattresses in person and speak to an expert to make sure that you’re making the best decision. Meanwhile, buying a mattress online is making a major decision sight unseen. You could be stuck with something that is completely wrong for you, and it will be a lot harder to return if that is the case.

Furniture

Buying furniture online is often as problematic as buying a mattress online. You need to make sure that what you are buying feels comfortable, which is much easier if you can test it out first in a store. It’s also hard to tell exactly what a chair or a couch will look like when you order it from a website. You could end up with something that is both uncomfortable and completely wrong for your home’s decor.

Decorations

Much like furniture, you can never tell exactly what a decoration will look like if you purchase it from a website. If you’re worried about how something will look in your home, buy it from a store so you can see it for yourself when you make the purchase.

Vehicles

Purchasing a new or used vehicle is not a decision that should be made lightly. Not only is a car expensive, but you need to make sure that it won’t require hundreds of dollars’ worth of maintenance before it is road-worthy. That cheap car that you bought online will turn out to be a lemon, and you won’t know until the purchase is final.

Large Appliances

You might find a great deal online for a washing machine or refrigerator, but what if it doesn’t work as advertised? These large appliances are nearly impossible to repackage for a return, and there’s no guarantee that they will be worth a purchase based on an online ad. Go to an appliance store near you instead.

As convenient as online shopping has become, there are certain things that should only be purchased in person. When in doubt, go to a brick-and-mortar store in your neighborhood to do your shopping. It may require a little extra effort, but it will be well worth it if you can get exactly what you need.
