Tomorrow is my God-daughter, Merin’s 8th birthday, but since she doesn’t have school today or tomorrow, we decided to throw her Disney Side @Home Celebrations party yesterday with her fellow 2nd grade classmates to celebrate.
Isn’t she adorable?! She looks just like her mom (my cousin, Shauna) did at that age!
First we played Disney Bingo. I had only received 10 Bingo cards, but I made copies of some of them. They were none the wiser that some of them had the same cards! Once someone got a BINGO, they could pick a prize: their choice of Disney stickers, Disney bracelets or a box of Cranberries. We played until everyone got to win a prize!
And then I filled them all up with sugar (since I wasn’t bringing them home with me)! I made Funfetti cupcakes with the Disney cupcake wrappers, frosted sugar cookies with the Mickey Mouse cookie cutter, and I scooped up some Disney Mickey Mouse Pillsbury cookies on clearance after Valentine’s Day for 50% off! I ended up buying Capri-Sun (with a coupon no less), as I figured that’d be less messy than trying to serve juice in cups, plus I didn’t have enough Disney cups for everyone. I also didn’t have enough Disney plates, so you’ll notice the cupcake plates I used as well which were also a 50% off clearance after Valentine’s Day find!
The day ended with the kids watching the Disney Vacation Planning DVD. I’m sure they all went home saying they now want to go to Disney World! Mission accomplished.
