If you’ve ever tried to watch a movie or a video from YouTube on your phone you know that no matter how big phones have gotten it’s just not the same as seeing it on your TV screen. Even watching on an iPad or laptop just doesn’t cut it. And if you’re like me, it’s always awkward to hold any of those devices while viewing anything longer than 30 seconds. Ouch. Cramps in my neck and my hand. Can’t. Get. Comfortable.
But recently, I discovered that I could watch movies, shows, live TV, YouTube, and photos streaming on my TV from all my devices easily using a Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player. This tiny, but powerful device, plugs directly into my HDMI port on existing TV and lets me stream my favorite entertainment right from my phone (or any of my devices) with just a tap. I can watch watch shows, video, listen to playlists, and more – all on my TV.
One of the best parts of having Chromecast for me, is that while streaming, I can still use my phone. That means I can still play Words with Friends or check out my social feeds while streaming. Yes, I like to multitask.
Streaming from any of my devices directly to my TV also means that I get the benefits of my great sound system. No more putting on headphone just hear the dialog or annoying those around me with my phone set to full volume.
I also like that I can start streaming using voice activated controls. I just say what I want to watch from compatible apps and control myTV hands-free, with Chromecast and my Google Home working seamlessly together. It’s like having my own personal entertainment butler. “Ok Google, play Ozark from Netflix on my living room TV.” Now bring me a cocktail. Okay, not yet. But maybe when I get my robot butler.
And, Chromecast is so affordable that I can expand all home entertainment without buying a new TV. I got one for every TV in the house. Yes, all three of them. Don’t judge. Chromecast is is compatible with all my existing existing HDTVs. Plus, Chromecast uses built-in Wifi to connect to the Internet through my wireless home network. Since my tech skills are only enough to be dangerous, the simple set up was a breeze. Even I could do in less than 2 minutes.
My hubby loves having a Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player in his man cave. Now he can watch all his shows from more than 2000 apps like Netflix, YouTube, YouTube TV, and HBO NOW,. And, he can play online games and watch sports. Yay, that I no longer have to hear all the Fortnite commentary from his laptop while I’m trying to read at bedtime.
Chromecast has enabled me to watch what I want and easily upgrade my viewing experience without spending a fortune. You gotta love it when there’s a simple, powerful solution that makes life easier and more entertaining.
