Believe it or not, there are many ways never to pay the full price for any item you shop for anymore. I’ve already tried several methods like scouring the mailbox, grocery checkout racks, and the backs of magazines for coupons I could use the next time I go shopping. I even go thrift-shopping for clothes whenever I get the opportunity. I also make sure to schedule my purchasing of big-ticket items like appliances for when the sale season rolls around.
However, my all-time favorite way to regularly stay frugal about buying stuff is using cashback apps and programs. I have already used some tried-and-tested cashback methods in the past (such as the one with Walmart, which was unfortunately discontinued). Then I stumbled upon a useful post at an earning tips forum called Earn That Buck last year, and realized there were other options to earn some post-shopping cashbacks! So today, I will be sharing seven of the best ways I discovered, so that you can start using them ASAP.
Ebates will always make it to the top of practically anybody’s list of legit cashback methods, and with good reason. It simply works, and works well.
What is wonderful about this app is that you can choose to get your cashback either by check or PayPal. It’s also available for both Android and iOS users, which is convenient. And there is a $10 bonus on your first purchase, to boot!
Ibotta is another favorite cashback app of many shoppers, mainly because of the great brands that allow instant cash back for each purchase. We’re talking about Amazon, Gap, Target, The Home Depot, Olive Garden, Old Navy – in other words, retailers and businesses we actually buy items from. The company also boasts of having paid back over $526 million to their “savers” to date.
The Snapcart app is available for download at both Google Play and The App Store. This mobile app makes cashback earning possible to practically anyone in the world, thanks to its global operations. Most cashback apps and programs are only available in either the US or Canada, so it’s nice to know how this useful money-saving option has now opened up to the rest of the world.
MyPoints has an excellent pedigree in the realm of cashback methods. It’s been around since 1996 and has awarded its users over $230 million in cash (via PayPal) and gift cards.
It has a tried-and-tested system of having members shop as they usually would and selecting their favorite retail store, earning up to $25 for every dollar spent on MyPoints-related purchases, and redeeming points to be used for dozens of partner retailers and restaurants. Users also get to earn a $10 Amazon gift card upon their first purchase via MyPoints.
You can also earn $10 straight away as soon as you join BeFrugal, and what’s not to love about that? The company also promises up to 40% cash back in over 5000 stores, including eBay, Amazon, Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Sears, Best Buy, Walmart, and more.
It has a straightforward system in place: browse, shop, and then get paid. There are also good options for getting your cashback earnings on BeFrugal: via direct bank deposit, by check, through PayPal, or an array of great gift cards to choose from.
I learned about ShopKick from the Cashback, Coupons, and Freebies section of EarnThatBuck, and I’m so happy that I did. It’s one of those cashback apps that allow me to earn in several ways – one of which involves not having to leave the comfort of my own home!
I like having the option of earning cash back both in-store and via online purchases and other tasks. ShopKick also has a regular referral program in place, where you can earn “kicks” (what they call their rewards points) once someone you referred downloads the app and starts using it. To obtain more kicks, I can also just walk into select partner stores, visit preferred online partners, scan the barcodes of selected products, view online products, and watch in-app videos – all without being required to purchase anything!
7) Fetch Rewards
With Fetch Rewards, you can get cash back merely by scanning grocery receipts, earning points on the selected participating products you’ve purchased, and then redeeming your points for plenty of reward options. What’s unique about this particular method are the little “surprise” products that earn you thousands of points without your realizing it. They are called Special Offers, and I’ve already gotten 1,000 bonus points just by purchasing my usual deodorant brand!
To sweeten the deal further, Fetch Rewards also has an unlimited referral system which allows users to earn 2000 bonus points every time a referred person signs up to the program using their unique referral code and makes their first purchase.
