Meet my new nephew (my only nephew actually): Oakley, named after my great-grandfather, Oakley Holmes.
Oakley was born yesterday before the Nebraska-Iowa football game (the Huskers still lost), and he is definitely a keeper!
At one of the baby showers for Oakley's mom, Adrienne, guests were encouraged to include a book with their gift. Adrienne received two copies of “On the Night You Were Born” by Nancy Tillman, a hardcover edition, and a story board book edition. Other guests raved about how great the book was, yet I hadn't heard about it (probably because my “baby” is now seventeen).
I was excited to receive my very own copy of the book for being a member of the Chick-fil-A Mom Panel and agree that the story line is great. “A beautiful tribute to the uniqueness of every child” – Kirkus Reviews. I think I will save it to give to the next mom-to-be I know (or maybe even save for a future grandchild).
